2011-2012 - 18U GOLD TRYOUT INFORMATION

The Vienna Stars 18U Gold Team is one of the East Coast’s premier travel fastpitch teams. We are looking for talented players with a desire to play at the collegiate level. The Vienna Stars completed another very successful season, earning berths to the two most prestigious National Championship Tournaments in the Country; ASA Gold Nationals in San Diego and Premier Girls Fastpitch Nationals in Huntington Beach, California.  The Gold team continues to draw large numbers of college coaches because of its competitive play and philosophy of maintaining a similar number of players in three graduating classes on our roster.  This helps to keep continuity on a team with players earning roster spots as sophomores and playing for the team for three years.  Having recruitable talent and not being top heavy in any one senior class is proving to be a very successful formula. We compete against some of the best teams in the country and have had players invited to exclusive camps at Stanford, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, and many others.  All of our 2010 alumni and 2011 players will be playing NCAA college softball.

We typically look to maintain 5 to 6 sophomores, juniors, and seniors on the team at one time keeping a roster of 15 to 18 players. The Stars encourage all high school age players to tryout and think players should be playing at the highest possible level as early as possible. We are looking for the best rising juniors and seniors on the east coast and the best rising sophomores and freshman in the area at their positions. 

The Vienna Stars organization is consistently invited to and participates in the nation’s leading college showcase tournaments across the country.  Our organization selects a customized seasonal schedule that presents our players with the best opportunities for playtime exposure with the nation’s leading college coaches. Our elite recruiting team researches before and during game play to match players with attending college coaches.  The Vienna Stars 18U Gold team attracts, on average, over 50 college coaches per showcase tournament. These tournaments will include:

* Team NJ Invitational Showcase (Fall and Summer) - Edison, NJ
* Rising Stars Showcase (Fall and Winter) - Ft Lauderdale, FL
* Ronald McDonald Showcase – Houston, TX
* Sun Classic Invitational Showcase– Orlando, FL
* Pennsbury Invitational Showcase (Summer) – Yardley, PA
* Louisville Slugger Independence Day Invitational Showcase – Boulder, CO

If you desire to play at the highest levels, including qualifying and playing in ASA GOLD Nationals and / or Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) Nationals, then plan on attending our open softball tryout listed below.

OPEN TRYOUTS: 

All perspective tryout participants are encouraged to email coach Rollins at stars12u@cox.net.  Send your bio, player profile, skills video, GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and list of perspective colleges, if available. All Vienna Stars players are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA or better.

Date: Wednesday - August 10th  5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Date: Saturday - August 13th  3:00 pm – 7:00 pm (note time change!!!)
Date: Sunday - August 14th  8:00 am – 12:00 pm
