In their first weekend of the spring season, the 13U Stars played in two one-day tournaments. With a record of 3-1, they earned second place in the first tournament. After a late championship game Saturday night, day two started early in Charlottesville. That didn't stop the Stars from rising early and preparing for the second battle. The team went 3-0 for the day and soundly shut down their opponent 9-1 in the Championship game to earn first place at the Big Hill Battle –part 2. The team is off to a good start and is ready for the Spring Break Out this coming weekend in Winchester.

Apple Blossom Tournament
The 96 Stars played hard in the Apple Blossom this past weekend. They went 2-1 on Saturday losing 3-2 to the Pittsburgh Spirit White team, beating the PA Blitz 10-0 and the Heartbreakers Red 10-3. They were seeded 2nd in their bracket after pool play and showed up bright and early on Sunday for some good competition. The Stars beat a very talented Maryland Stars team in the last inning to advance to the semifinals against the Pittsburgh Spirit Black team. The Stars never gave up but unfortunately ran out of time. They lost the game by one run to the Spirit Black who advanced and beat out the Spirit White team in the Championship game.

2010 PONY Spring Break Out Runner Up!
The Stars were preparing to enter the semi-final game when the clouds opened up and ended the day. Spirits were not dampened though as we were awarded second place with a record of 3-0-1. Great job girls. |

2010 PONY Memorial Day Madness Silver Championship Bracket Playback Champions!
Three days, nine games and hot humid weather did not the stop the 96 Stars. After two days of pool play, the team was seeded 22 out of 58 teams and was placed in the Silver Championship Bracket. After a tough loss against the RBI Inferno on Monday morning, the Stars played two games back to back to win the Playback Championship. |

2010 Vienna Invitational Tournament Champions!
The 96 Stars took first place in the VIT last weekend. The team started with an early morning 9-3 win over the NOVA Flash 14U team, then came right back on the field to beat the Olney Cougars 14-4 with 12 runs coming in the bottom of the last inning! With rain arriving Saturday evening, the Stars finished pool play with a 10-0 win over the Great Falls Sharks. Unfortunately, bracket play was cancelled due to the overnight storms. The Stars learned just how important it was to play hard on Saturday as they were awarded the Championship as the only team going 3-0 in pool play. |
